BarrioQuest

A turn-based comedy RPG where the final boss is paperwork.

It all starts on a Tuesday. Jorge — an economist who reads the fine print for fun — walks into the corner kiosk for an alfajor and finds an electricity bill with eight digits and a sad face stamped on it. Everyone on the block got one. And at the bottom, under “Notes”: Jointly liable party: JORGE.

From the dusty hall of the old Neighborhood Co-op, now reborn as the Base of Operations, Jorge puts together the crew nobody asked for:

• Licha, a boxer who solves problems by lifting them.
• Dylan, who doesn't give a damn and somehow never misses.
• Henry, a therapist who fixes people the way engineers fix buildings.
• …and a couple more you'll have to find.

• A story in four arcs: the barrio and its debt collectors, the Audit of the Void, the Mother System (a virtual world run by forms and CAPTCHAs) and the Lagoon, a prison where debts become sentences. 35 main quests.
• Turn-based combat with personality: Jorge takes out loans (and pays the interest), Licha taunts, tanks and throws a knockout cross with all his Brainrot, Dylan counts his bullets and Fran gives the floor to his allies. Special moves come with quick minigames.
• 83 side-quest chapters, including a personal arc for every member of the crew.
• 88 enemies and 15 bosses, from Territorial Pigeons to the Interim CEO.
• A walkable barrio with day and night, neighbors who talk about your reputation, 48 map events and a weekly Fee to pay.
• Visual-novel conversations, group chats in the break room and banter in the middle of a fight.
• English and Spanish, switchable at any time.

1. Download the .zip and unzip it anywhere.
2. Open BarrioQuest.exe (keep it next to the _internal folder).
3. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. It happens with small unsigned indie games.

Your saves are stored in %APPDATA%\BarrioQuest, so they survive updates.
